Happy Friday to you! Hope you had a fantastic week! I am definitely looking forward to the weekend…we have a couple fun things on our agenda over the next few days, but I also plan to spend some time relaxing…hoping to finish up the book Hidden Figures, work on a pumpkin energy bite recipe, and do some meal planning for next week! And now, here are a few finds and favorites from this past week. Have a good one friends!
ANDALOU NATURALS BRIGHTEN AND TIGHTEN MASK
As many of you know, Andalou is one of my favorite skincare brands. I use their rose foaming face wash, day cream, and night cream religiously. I needed to restock my face wash (I order mine through Amazon because it is significantly cheaper than the price at Whole Foods), and since the cleanser was an add-on item, I decided I would grab a few other things, this face mask being one of them. Once in awhile, I think it’s so fun to have a pamper day- put on a mask, wear your comfiest robe, and sip a glass of wine. No surprise…I loved this mask and felt that it did give my skin a soft glow…definitely will order more in the future!
VELVET SLIP-ON SNEAKERS
During a sale last week, I decided to grab these adorable slip-on, velvet sneakers from the Loft. I love a slip-on option, since I’m constantly switching out from shoes to sticky socks. The velvet gives these such a fun, fall feel and the color is super versatile. Just thought I’d share since these are super comfortable as well!
Flax seed meal isn’t something new for me, but it hasn’t been in our pantry for quite awhile, so it made it’s comeback this week. I decided to grab a bag at Trader Joe’s to use in an energy bite recipe I’m working on. I added it into a few smoothies this week and sprinkled it on my oatmeal for an extra, nutty flavor. In my opinion, this is a great add-in with lots of benefits- Omega 3’s, protein, magnesium…and it tastes awesome! I can’t wait to share the energy bite recipe with you all next week!
I am obsessed with these Teleties (hair ties) we sell at the Pure Barre studios. Every time I take out a regular rubber band, without a doubt, there is a tiny clump of hair (sorry to be gross) attached to the rubber band. With Teleties, that never happens, so I know I’m reducing unnecessary breakage. They come in tons of fun colors, and two different sizes. If your local Pure Barre doesn’t sell them, you can grab them here. I have my eye on the gunmetal color set!
THIS WEEK’S SUNSETS
I don’t know if any of you saw the stunning sunsets we had this week, but they were truly breathtaking. I love watching the sun set and have an entire roll of photos on my phone devoted to the many sunsets we’ve viewed from our apartment over the years. I have to say this week was one of the best I’ve seen in a long time and it was such an awesome reminder to stop and be in awe of nature’s beauty!
I’m not one to shy away from using a slow-cooker during the summer, but I definitely use ours way more once fall rolls around. On Wednesday, I made this pulled BBQ chicken (if you missed it, you can grab the recipe –> here) and it got me so pumped for making many more slow-cooker dinners. Next week, I am hoping to whip up the Slow Cooker Jalapeno Popper Chicken Chili from Julie Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook (highly recommend her book!)
There you have it- just a few favorites from the week! Have an awesome weekend and I’ll see you back here Monday for the weekly dinner menu! 🙂
