Happy Labor Day to you! I hope you are enjoying the long weekend, soaking in the last bit of summer! I’m starting this Monday off with a delicious latte…coffee, vanilla bean ghee, pumpkin pie spice, MCT oil, and collagen peptides all blended together for that perfect froth.
It’s a pretty typical day for me, teaching this morning and then rehearsing for a test-out video I’ll be doing tomorrow in order to start teaching the new Pure Empower class! I am super nervous for the video, but I know once it’s over I’ll feel so relieved. One thing I love about being in the fitness industry, in general, is how you are constantly required to go out of your comfort zone. Once you feel like you’ve mastered something, you’re presented with something new, or a major change happens. I used to be someone who was always quite “comfortable,” same routine, day in, day out, without much challenging me in the way of personal growth.
Now, I am constantly facing new fears; learning things that were once foreign to me (uh, hello counting music), making connections and partnerships via social media, and sharing my health and fitness journey publicly on a day-to-day basis. Of course, there are times when I want to shrivel away from these new challenges, but would I truly be growing? Probably not. So long story short, I’ve been letting nerves get the best of me with this upcoming test-out video, when really, it’s just another awesome opportunity to grow, expand my knowledge, and serve clients in a new way.
As we move into a new (short) week, don’t be afraid of a challenge. Maybe it’s a fitness-related challenge that you’ve been putting off…just take the first step, whatever it is. Perhaps you want September to be the month you finally start meal-prepping on Sundays. So do it. Rip the band aid. Face your challenge head on, whether big or small…you’ll be happy you did come week’s end.
A few fun things going on for dinner this week…here’s the plan:
- Monday: Spinach pasta salad (sharing the recipe this week)
- Tuesday: Taco bowls with organic ground turkey as the filling
- Wednesday: Easy herbed salmon with brown rice (think lemon juice mixed with lots of fresh herbs- will share this soon too!)
- Thursday: Rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods (they’ve lowered the prices on the organic Rotisserie chickens) with roasted sweet potatoes
- Friday: TBD
Would love to hear what you’ve got planned for dinners this week…any new meals? Have a fantastic rest of your day and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for a spinach pasta salad recipe!
