Morning friends! Happy, happy Friday! I am so looking forward to this weekend…we don’t have much planned, which sometimes, is a relief. Tonight, we’re making homemade pizzas and (I hope) watching a scary movie or two…my favorite kind of night.
I have a few finds and favorites to share with you from this week, so here we go!
SIETE CHIPS (ON SALE)
It’s no secret I am a chip lover. Typically, I buy Way Better chips, but only if they’re on sale. I really try to stay within a budget for groceries, so certain brands of chips or other “snack” items usually will not make into my cart unless there’s some discount to be had. I stopped into Whole Foods yesterday to get the fixin’s for our Thursday night taco dinner, and not only were the Siete almond flour tortilla wraps on sale, but so were these chips. Although I’ve heard amazing things about Siete chips for awhile now, I didn’t jump on the bandwagon because I never caught them on sale. Well, I’m so glad I did yesterday because they are fantastic. These chips, like the tortilla wraps, are made with Cassava Flour, contain minimal ingredients, and are light, crispy, and perfectly salty.
CALIFIA FARMS PUMPKIN SPICE CREAMER
This week, I thoroughly enjoyed two of my favorite things colliding…pumpkin spice and coffee. Califia Farms makes delicious, creamy almond milk, so I had high expectations for this creamer, and it did not disappoint. The perfect hint of pumpkin spices to bring some fall flavor into your morning cup o’ Joe. I’m always switching up how I have my coffee and this was the perfect addition to my current coffee rotation. (See my last post about butter coffee —> here).
EVA NATURALS SERUM
I’m always on the hunt for effective, natural skin-care products and I wanted to a find a product that specifically targets wrinkles and firms the skin (oh, hello 30). After a few searches and reading multiple reviews, I ended up purchasing this product by Eva Naturals. Decently priced for an anti-wrinkle serum, natural, and rave reviews…I figured I couldn’t go wrong. So far, I’m loving it, but it’s only been a week since I started using it. I’ll share more after I’ve been using it a longer period of time, but for now, I’d say it’s well worth it! Eva Naturals carries several different serum options, so I may try a few out before committing to just one. Check it out –> here.
RECENT SELF-CARE RITUALS
I believe self-care (for both the mind and body) is crucial to leading an overall healthy lifestyle. I do a decent job of making sure I set aside time for various self-care rituals. In terms of physical self-care…I try to use my foam roller on a regular basis, I take Epsom salt baths, and I really, really try to incorporate yoga and/or stretching into my weekly workouts. Where I’d been lacking in recent months was my mental self-care…and I think it became evident in September (when sleep was not happening easily). So once October rolled in, I told myself it was time to get back to the things I know help me stay sane, reduce stress, and promote better sleep: reading positive, uplifting, wisdom-filled books, meditating, and taking time out to relax and unplug.
This week, I pulled out 2 of my favorite books- A Year of Miracles and The Four Agreements…I like to read these in the morning to set the tone for my day. A Year of Miracles is a great go-to in the morning because the reflections and devotionals are short, but powerful. Rather than starting my mornings thinking about all the tasks I have to accomplish throughout the day, reading, even a short piece, helps me to start off on a positive, stress-free note.
That’s all I’ve got this week! Just a few things making the list! I hope you have an awesome, relaxing weekend. As usual, I’ll be back Monday with our weekly dinner menu. Happy Friday all!
Question of the day: What’s your go-to self-care ritual?
