Happy Friday all! At the start of the New Year, I decided to update some of my makeup products and today, I want to share my favorites with you! I gravitate toward brands with “cleaner” ingredients (paraben free, no synthetic fragrances, etc.) and lately, my go-to brands are Pacifica and Tarte. This post shares products I am currently using, or ones I have previously used and also love!
Pacifica Dreamy Cover Bare-Faced Serum Foundation: I have been using this serum foundation for several months now and I love it. I wear the light/medium shade and only need a small amount to get full face coverage (a little goes a long way). The coverage is light, but really smooths out my skin and pores. I have also used the Pacifica BB cream, which has an even lighter coverage, but is also a wonderful option.
I apply my foundation with a brush I found on Amazon and I am obsessed. I had heard so many amazing reviews of the Artis brush, but I just could not justify spending over $50 for a makeup brush. Enter Amazon. I did a bit of online researching and decided to go for this option since it had really good reviews. I love how flawlessly this brush applies my foundation.
I am a fan of neutral shadow palettes and I absolutely love the Tartelette Bloom palette. The colors are so pretty and the palette smells incredible (not overly fragrant, just a light, lovely scent). There are several matte colors for every day looks, but a few shimmery ones as well to wear for special occasions or date nights. Tarte has several palette options, so you can choose one that works for your eye color/preferences.
I have tried a few mascaras from Tarte and I’ve never been disappointed with any of them. Most recently, I snagged this Amazon Clay Smart Mascara when it was on sale during the holidays. It lengthens and thickens my lashes without clumping and it doesn’t require multiple coats (I usually do 1 or 2). I’ve also used this Tarte mascara and love it as well!
I naturally have dark under eye circles (and have had them since I was young) so effective concealer is a must for me. So many people were raving about the Tarte Shape Tape, I decided I’d give it a go. At first, I didn’t love it. I ordered the color light sand and thought maybe I’d gone a shade too light, but this concealer is really more of a highlighting concealer, so it’s definitely a bit lighter and brighter than others I’ve used in the past. Now, I am hooked. I feel it brightens my under eye area, making me look more rested and this concealer also smells amazing. Definitely a must-try.
My latest bronzer is actually a contour/highlighter palette from Tarte. I got it for $10 over the holidays and I love it. It’s currently on sale, so if you’re in the market, it’s a good time to grab this. A little goes a long way with the bronzer, so I anticipate this will last a long time! Really good option for travel too, since it’s compact. As with all Tarte products, I love the the sturdiness of the case (I’ve had far too many bronzer/blush lids break).
I’ve used EcoTools brushes for a long time and recently got a full set of brushes in a limited addition holiday set (similar set here). I also use the EcoTools makeup brush shampoo (which reminds me, I need to clean all my brushes soon).
I hope you find this helpful! I’ll update this page as I try new products! Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend ahead!
