Happy Friday friends! I hope you had a fabulous week! With the dropping temperatures in Chicago this week, it’s really starting to feel like the holidays…I plan on snuggling up on the couch tonight with a cup of hot cocoa (sharing a recipe I found for hot chocolate below) and hopefully, a good Christmas movie. I have a few finds and favorites to share with you from the week…here we go!
HOT COCOA RECIPE FROM THE DETOXINISTA
As you probably know, I’m a gal who loves comfort foods (and drinks) gone healthy… and nothing screams comfort during the cold winter months like a cup of hot cocoa. I came across this recipe by the Detoxinista (awesome blog to follow, by the way) and I’ve made a few batches using the unsweetened cocoa powder I had on hand (recipe calls for raw cacao powder, but I gotta use what I have and it works great!) A quick tip…sprinkle in a little cinnamon for an extra flavor punch, or add in a tbsp of Califia Farms Mint Cocoa Creamer for a minty hot chocolate! Click –> here for the original Detoxinista recipe!
I do quite a bit of walking outside on a daily basis and I cannot stand when my feet are cold, so I always grab for my SmartWool socks before I head out. I have owned the same two pairs for probably 3-4 years now and they’re still in great shape and keep my feet SO warm. I highly, highly recommend if you’re someone who walks quite a bit in the winter. I even wear them with my slippers for added warmth when I’m home. So cozy! They carry many styles…crew socks, boot socks, no-show socks…I love this pair and this pair for winter!
It’s no secret I LOVE Simple Mills products and their line-up of cookies is no exception. Next week, I’ll be sharing my favorite (healthier) desserts and you’re getting a little preview today. These cookies are so tasty and one serving (3 cookies) only has 5 grams of sugar. The ingredients are minimal and clean, making these a fantastic option if you’re a chocolate lover or just someone who likes something sweet after dinner! Delish!
TESSEMAE’S CAESAR DRESSING
I am a BIG fan of Caesar salads and Tessemae’s has come up with an awesome Caesar dressing that delivers big-time on flavor, but sans dairy, gluten, and sugar. I swear, this clean-ingredient version tastes as amazing as so many other Caesar dressings and I feel good knowing the ingredients are on point! An easy breezy dinner? Grilled chicken Caesar salad…chopped romaine, grilled chicken, maybe some avocados and tomatoes for some fun extras, all drizzled with this Tessemae’s dressing!
Alright, that’s a wrap for me on the week! Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
Question of the day: What’s your favorite type of salad dressing?
